Kyiv – On Sunday, 12 August 2007, at 18:00, for the first time in the history of independent Ukraine, thousands of Kyiv residents gathered on the hills of the Kyivan Monastery of the Caves to mark the Day of Kyivan Rus’ Baptism.

The celebration was coordinated by Ukrainian artists, scholars and other members of the newly created civic organization “Day of Rus’ Baptism.” Clergymen of the Holy Trinity Ionyn Monastery and the Kytayevo Hermitage were also involved in preparations for the holiday.
