Athens, Jun. 21, 2007 (CWNews.com) - Greek Orthodox Archbishop Christodoulos of Athens, who greeted Pope John Paul II on the Pontiff's historic visit to Greece in 2001, has been diagnosed with intestinal cancer.
The diagnosis came after surgery this week. Doctors at Aretaion Hospital in Athens said that the prelate's condition can be treated, and should be able to resume his duties.
