Byzantine Metropolitan Church of Pittsburgh Celebrates 75th Anniversary


Metropolitan Judson calls for faithful to enter "the new Christian millennium as an American Byzantine Catholic Church."

Metropolitan JUDSON, Father Deacon Valerian and servers during the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Sunday, October 3rd at the convention center in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh -- Over 3,000 people joined together in prayerful celebration of the 75h Anniversary of establishment of the Byzantine-Ruthenian Excharate of Pittsburgh on Sunday, October 3rd, 1999 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh.  Concelebrating hierarchs included almost all Byzantine Catholic hierarchs from the United States and Europe along with approximately 40 Roman Catholic bishops.  Also in attendance were hierarchs of other Orthodox Churches as well as those of various Christian denominations.
